People working on creative projects together at a shared art workshop table

Perch Makers Table in Manzanita, Oregon

Where creation and connection
come together

A new kind of creative space is coming to Manzanita—part artist collective, part hands-on gathering place. And you can help bring it to life.

A Creative Space on the Oregon Coast

On the Oregon coast, rainy days are part of the rhythm.
But there aren’t many places to go where you can actually settle in.

Most shops are built for browsing, not staying.
Creative spaces are either limited, scheduled, or out of reach.

And for artists—especially in smaller coastal towns—consistent retail space can be hard to find.

So I kept coming back to the same question:

What if there was a place where people could gather, make something, and stay awhile?

That’s what Perch Makers Table is becoming.

What Perch Makers Table Will Be

Curated Artist Collective

A thoughtfully merchandised retail space featuring up to 50 regional artists. Makers keep 85% of their sales, while the shop handles display, sales, and day-to-day operations—making it easier to have a consistent retail presence on the Oregon coast.

* If you're a maker interested in being part of the collective, sign up at the bottom of this page and select that you're an artist — we'd love to hear from you.

Community Makers Table

When you enter, a large communal table, and sofa invite people to sit and create—sketching, knitting, journaling, or simply trying something new. Visitors and locals alike can enjoy a relaxed, creative environment, and even kids on vacation can spend time making art on a rainy day.

Artist Workshops

A small number of artist-led workshops each month create opportunities for makers to teach and connect—without the pressure of renting or managing their own space.

Why This Space Matters

Perch Makers Table fills a real gap in Manzanita and along the Oregon coast.

It offers a place for locals to gather, a meaningful indoor activity for visitors, and a sustainable way for artists to share their work.

Instead of another shop people pass through, this becomes a space people return to—supporting artists while building real connection within the community.

Help Bring This Creative Space to Life

This project is in its early stages, and community support is what will bring it from idea to reality.

Your contribution helps fund:

  • Artist display setup

  • Communal table and seating (thoughtfully sourced)

  • Initial shop materials and organization

  • Launching a welcoming, functional space from day one

This is a grassroots, community-supported build—and every bit of support helps shape what it becomes.

Meet the Founder

Hey, I’m Katie.

I’m an artist and the owner of Perch + Paper, and you may have seen my work at the Manzanita Farmers Market or seen me pulling my armoire around town to host pop-ups.

I’ve built my business around creating meaningful, approachable art and classes—and connecting with people through it. Perch Makers Table is a natural extension of that work.

It’s a space I wish existed here, so I’m building it.
